The Houston Chronicle reported that former President Bill Clinton, asked by President Bush to help raise money for the victims of Hurricane Katrina, offered harsh public criticism of the Bush administration's disaster-relief effort on Sunday, saying, "You can't have an emergency plan that works if it only affects middle-class people up."

Clinton's comments on the ABC News program This Week could prove awkward for the White House, given Bush's eagerness to involve his Democratic predecessor in a high-profile role to raise money for the hurricane's victims, the Chronicle reported.

So what was the Bush response to Clinton's "tirade"? "I still like him" Bush Snr responded.

The Clintons and the Bushes are comparable to the Lucchese and Genovese families: they have their little spats, but at the end of the day they eat their gnocchi from the same table. The Democons and the Republicrats are the left and right hands of a single body. The mind of this body is intent on bare handedly tearing apart freedom and ripping to shreds the constitutional form of governance that was created to bring down this elitist rabble.
